Tennis Highlights
Australian born and trained, Peter Doohan
won one singles title and five doubles titles. A great doubles
player, he won the NCAA doubles title and was the first tennis
player in Arkansas history to win four-times in a row. He reached
his highest singles ATP world ranking of 43 in 1987, when he
beat the defending champion Boris Becker at Wimbledon. Peter
achieved a doubles career high with the Stanford ATP ranking
of 15 in 1987. |

Future Directions
Peter Doohan is one of Hunter's favourite
sons. He is keen to 'give back' to the Newcastle Region (Australia).
The former number 1 NSW player is keen to contribute to Australian
tennis once again in a variety of ways including:
- To operate an Australian Tennis Centre of
Excellence to coach talented young tennis players
- Provide commentary on tennis
- Offer professional tennis coaching services
- Act as business development adviser for
sporting centres
- Establish tennis-training centres
- Develop promotion strategies for tennis products
