About Peter
For Peter the love of tennis was a family
affair, his parents and sisters played for pleasure and the drive
to win on the court.
However, it was Peter who took his passion for tennis to the world
stage at the age of 16 years. He is best known for ousting two-times
defending champion and top-seeded Boris Becker from the second round
of Wimbledon in 1987. This win prevented Becker from becoming the first player to win Wimbledon
three times in a row.
What is less known is that Peter was a great doubles player who appeared
an unstoppable force when teamed with Pat Serret. With Pat, he won
the 1982 NCAA doubles championship. Peter gained all-American honours
for doubles for four years.
After giving up touring the professional tennis circuit, he has contributed
to the tennis profession as a tennis teacher, tennis professional
and business development manager. Peter now lives in Tulsa Oklahoma.
